Bay to Breakers Boots Race Organizer After KnowTheCEO Exposes Right-Wing Ties
Bay to Breakers has parted ways with Capstone Events, the North Carolina race organizer whose founder and top executive is an active backer of right-wing politics. The iconic San Francisco road race made the move as a result of KnowTheCEO’s report last year that exposed Capstone Chairman John Kane’s contributions to Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz and other extremist, anti-LGBTQ politicians.
Omnicom, Interpublic & Squarespace sign gun safety letter after being called out by KnowTheCEO
On June 9th, CEOs for Gun Safety issued a letter calling for Congress to pass common sense gun laws. More than 220 companies signed the letter, which was similar to one the group issued in 2019.

After KnowTheCEO exposed Ben & Jerry’s work with the gun industry law firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, the company announced it will no longer work with the firm. The spotlight we put on this work also led Shook Hardy to completely remove from their website all references to their gun work.
Bay to Breakers loses sponsor over race operator’s right-wing politics
Bay to Breakers sponsor Pendo has announced it is “breaking” from the race and will not continue as a sponsor. In a May 13th blog post on the company’s website, Joe Chernov explains the decision, citing “political donations that seem misaligned with the inclusive values associated with the race.”
